Fixing gluten free gravy common issues
Please note that if you follow the directions, you should have any of these issues.
- Gluten free gravy with flour clumps: Strain out the clumps or use a blender to break up the clumps.
- Gravy that’s too thin: There’s a few ways to fix this issue. Let the gravy continue cooking to help the liquid reduce or add a little bit more of Beth Blends Gluten Free Gravy Mix to the liquid. The amount of mix needed will depend on how think the gravy is so start with small amounts. Please keep in mind that the gravy will also thicken as it cools.
- Gravy that’s too thick: If you’ve added too much mix or not enough liquid, you’ll end up with very thick gravy. If it’s too thick, try added a little broth (or whatever cooking liquid you prefer) to help think it out.
- Salty gravy: If you find that your gravy is too salty, make some additional gravy and combine it with the salty gravy. That will help dilute it. And don’t worry if you now have a surplus of gravy. You can stick any extras in the freezer and use it later.
