Mushroom Gravy Ingredients
- Ghee: Substitute with Grass-Fed Butter. For Vegan use Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, or Coconut Oil.
- Garlic
- Mushrooms: Make sure to slice them thin or it will change the cooking time.
- Beth Blends Gluten Free Gravy Mix
- Beef Stock or Broth: To make this vegan, use Vegetable Broth and 1 tablespoon Coconut Aminos.
- Ground Black Pepper
- Sea Salt
How to make Gluten Free Mushroom Gravy
1. To cook the mushrooms, heat the ghee in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the Mushrooms. Cook for about 2 minutes then add the salt and pepper. Continue to cook for another 2 minutes until most mushrooms are becoming golden. Then add the garlic and cook until mushrooms are fully golden.
2. To make the gravy, lower heat to medium. Melt the ghee. Add flour and stir continuously for 1 minute to create a roux. The mixture may be a bit dry and sandy as the texture depends on how much fat is left from the mushrooms.
3. While stirring, slowly pour in the beef stock. Cook while stirring for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until it thickens. Continuing stirring so that the gravy doesn’t burn while it thickens. Taste and add more salt if needed. Serve immediately.
Optionally vegan mushroom gravy
