Are biscuits healthy or junk?

Biscuits filled with unhealthy ingredients are junk. However, our AIP Air Fryer Drop Biscuits use whole food ingredients as well as nutrient dense and anti-inflammatory flours. These are a much better option especially if you are looking for egg free, gluten free or nut free (aside from coconut) biscuits. They are golden brown and crisp on the outside but fluffy on the inside.

What are drop biscuits?

Drop biscuits are when you don’t need to knead or roll out the dough. You quite literally drop them on the baking surface and pop them into the oven or in this instance, the air fryer.

Can you bake biscuits in the air fryer?

Turns out, you can make biscuits in the air fryer. Even fluffy AIP biscuits! We’ve come up with just the right ingredients, cooking time and temperature to make this super easy Air fryer drop biscuits.

Why Use an Air Fryer

If your oven is busy cooking something else, it’s nice to still be able to make freshly baked bread. Additionally, an air fryer doesn’t heat up your house and requires a lot less energy. Great for summertime baking.

Air Fryer Recommendations

I’m currently using an older air fryer model from Costco. It’s like this model. However, the capacity is small, and the machine take up a lot of space. I’d prefer to have a toaster oven/air fryer. It can be used for multiple purposes and has a larger capacity for cooking or baking. I’ve seen really good reviews on this model.

Can I freeze these Vegan Gluten Free Biscuits?

Yes! These freeze shockingly well. To freeze, use an ice cream scoop to place the drop biscuits on a parchment lined plate or baking sheet. Place the baking sheet into the freezer. Once the dough is frozen, you can place them in a bag or resealable container.

Can you air fry biscuits frozen?

Yes! You can always defrost them but why bother. They taste great even when baked from frozen dough. I can’t tell the difference between the fresh made and frozen biscuits. Honestly, they taste the same as if you made them fresh! When ready to eat, place frozen biscuits in the air fryer for 25 minutes at 330 degrees. It’s pretty much like the instructions for freshly made biscuits, but it just needs an extra 5 minutes in the air fryer.

These biscuits are so easy to make, I’ve made them three times already! They’re called “drop” biscuits because you literally just drop all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them up! I recommend them plain with honey. I also made them with garlic and rosemary to have with dinner. Yum
Best part by far is that I can freeze these biscuits uncooked. Then I just take out how many I want and pop them in the air fryer. That’s a game changer for me. Thank you for this recipe!!
